Nvidia's Auto Shader Compilation Cuts Wait Times for Graphics Rendering
Nvidia has updated its App utility to include a feature called Auto Shader Compilation (ASC), which can free users from long shader compilation times when launching games.
Shader compilation is a process that involves compiling shader programs, which are used in graphics rendering, for the specific GPU architecture and instruction set. This can take several minutes, especially after driver updates or when switching between GPUs.
Nvidia's ASC feature takes over this process, precompiling shaders in the background while the user is performing other tasks on their PC. The feature is currently in beta and is enabled by default, but users can adjust settings to limit system load during compilation.
