Nvidia's B200 Chips Boost SK Biopharmaceuticals' AI Research Power
SK biopharmaceuticals has acquired access to 128 of Nvidia's B200 chips, which will be used for large-scale computing power in drug research. The B200 is a flagship processor from Nvidia's Blackwell line, designed for training and running AI models.
The combined processing power of the 128 chips can perform about 0.58 exaflops or roughly 580 quadrillion calculations per second, measured in FP8 (floating point). This significant capacity will enable SK biopharmaceuticals to develop AI models tailored to its research and data more quickly and reliably.
The company plans to use this computing power mainly for early-stage drug development, applying AI to its translational research, TR-AX. It also aims to build a large language model for both research and everyday operations.
SK biopharmaceuticals will open the infrastructure to outside firms, universities, and research institutes, considering whether to turn it into a business by selling AI research services.
