Nvidia's Earnings Send Measured Shockwaves Through Asian Semiconductor Sector
Nvidia's (NVDA) latest earnings report has sent shockwaves through Asia's semiconductor sector, but this time around, the response is more measured.
The company guided that it expects sales for the year running through January 2028 to rise 70%, which cheered investors and caused shares in Nvidia to jump 7.6% in early U.S. trading.
Nvidia's suppliers, such as South Korea-based Samsung Electronics (KR:005930) and SK Hynix (SKHY), also saw gains, with Kioxia Holdings (KXIAY) rising 5.0% after announcing plans to invest ¥1 trillion ($6.3 billion) in a new production plant.
This marks a departure from the frenzied buying seen during previous run-ups, which some market analysts have warned could be indicative of a bubble forming in the semiconductor sector.
