Nvidia's Les Karpas Tackles Robotics' Biggest Bottleneck
Nvidia's Les Karpas will speak at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 about the limitations and opportunities in AI and robotics.
Karpas, Global Head of Physical AI at Nvidia Inception, believes that general-purpose robots face a significant challenge: the lack of an internet-wide dataset for physical AI.
This issue has hindered the development of AI-powered robots, unlike language models which have benefited from large datasets like those used by OpenAI and Anthropic.
Nvidia is working with startups to overcome this hurdle through simulation, synthetic data, and foundation models trained across multiple robot forms simultaneously.
Karpas' session, 'Robots Are Waiting for Their ChatGPT Moment', will take place on the Real World AI Stage at Disrupt 2026 from October 13-15 in San Francisco's Moscone West.
