Nvidia's RTX Spark Powers Next-Gen Laptops and Mini PCs
Nvidia's RTX Spark 'superchip' has been making waves in the tech world since its announcement three months ago. The chip is designed to power laptops and mini PCs that can run local AI models, reducing dependence on cloud computing and enhancing privacy.
At the IFA 2026 tech show in Berlin, Lenovo showcased its Yoga 9n 2-in-1 laptop, which features a 16-inch OLED touch display, six-speaker sound system, and 9.2-megapixel webcam. The device is incredibly thin at just 0.69 inches, thanks to Nvidia's Arm-based chip under the hood.
The chip combines a Grace CPU with up to 20 cores and a Blackwell RTX GPU with up to 6,144 cores, packaged together into a single system-on-a-chip (SoC). This configuration would theoretically put the integrated GPU capability of this chip between an RTX 5070 Ti and an RTX 5080.
Lenovo is also offering a 15-inch model, the Yoga Pro 9n, which shares many features with the 16-inch model but has a smaller screen resolution and is thinner at 0.66 inches.
Nvidia's RTX Spark-powered laptops from various manufacturers are set to hit the market this fall, including Dell XPS 16, Asus ProArt P16, and Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra. These devices aim to cater to creators and AI enthusiasts who require local AI processing capabilities.
