Nvidia's September 2026 driver bulletin displayed placeholder summary for two days
Nvidia's September 2026 GPU display driver security bulletin went live with a placeholder summary, reading 'Default Summary,' for two days and six hours before it was corrected. The bulletin, published on September 30, initially lacked a proper summary and only included a generic instruction on October 2. The replacement text directed users to download the latest driver updates but came with formatting issues, including unresolved CSS properties.
The bulletin, identified as 5861, addressed 114 unique CVEs, with 78 rated as High and 36 as Medium. No Critical vulnerabilities were noted, and the highest base score was 7.8, shared by 70 of the CVEs. The document's revision history still indicates the initial release date, despite the changes made later.
Nvidia's PSIRT team publishes security bulletins exclusively on GitHub starting October 1, and the error was confined to this specific bulletin. The DeepStream and Networking BlueField bulletins published around the same time did not have this issue, suggesting a localized error rather than a template problem. The practical advice for users remains to install the recommended driver builds to mitigate the vulnerabilities.
