Nvidia's investment in SpaceX has taken a hit as the rocket maker's shares retreated from their post-IPO high. The chipmaker disclosed that its stake in Elon Musk's company is now worth approximately $17.2 billion, down from $21 billion at the end of the second quarter.

The value drop represents an 18% decline since June, when SpaceX shares closed at $170.86. Nvidia currently owns 122.8 million Class A shares of SpaceX, making it the sixth-largest investor in the company.

Musk remains by far the largest shareholder, with a stake worth around $850 billion. Alphabet holds the second-largest position, valued at roughly $78 billion.
