Nvidia's Vera Rubin Platform Unleashes $40 Billion Power Opportunity
Nvidia's latest platform, Vera Rubin, is transforming electricity into a $40 billion cash machine, according to CEO Jensen Huang.
This is a remarkable change from earlier generations, with revenue opportunity per gigawatt increasing from around $18 billion for Hopper to $25 billion for Grace Blackwell and now $40 billion for Vera Rubin.
The key to this success lies in power efficiency, with Vera Rubin capable of delivering 30 times higher throughput per megawatt and 35% lower token costs than its predecessor.
Nvidia's focus on AI computing has proven profitable, with data-center revenue reaching $89 billion in the second quarter, up 117% year-over-year. The company has already received orders from major hyperscalers, AI clouds, and system makers for Vera Rubin.
