NX Group and JAL Launch New Air Cargo Service Between Asia and North America
NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS (NX Group) and Japan Airlines (JAL) are partnering to launch a new air cargo transport service between Asia and North America. The partnership will utilize a Boeing 747F secured by JAL, which can carry approximately 100 tonnes of cargo.
The new weekly service will connect Los Angeles with Narita, Taipei, Singapore, and Narita before returning to Los Angeles. It is designed to address strong demand between the two regions for AI- and semiconductor-related cargo, as well as oversized cargo such as server racks and data center equipment.
The first flight is scheduled to depart from Los Angeles on Saturday, October 3, 2026, and will initially operate once a week. The service aims to provide a high-capacity air cargo network across key Asian markets, leveraging the capabilities of large freighter aircraft to meet growing demand for oversized and heavy cargo.
Through the partnership, NX Group and JAL aim to secure stable and flexible air cargo capacity, provide tailored transportation solutions to meet diverse customer requirements, and support the development of resilient logistics infrastructure for sustainable growth.
