The New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) has signed an enterprise agreement with IBM for new artificial intelligence and hybrid cloud tools. This deal is expected to deliver $6 million in taxpayer savings over the next three years.

The agreement will provide some of the state's agencies access to IBM's hybrid cloud and AI software portfolio, allowing them to automate business processes, modernize applications, and strengthen cybersecurity.

According to ITS officials, this deal is part of a larger effort to advance AI-powered productivity and 'intelligent workflows' across state government. The agency has negotiated 14 enterprise-level agreements that have resulted in $58 million in annual savings for taxpayers.
