NZ Ends Paper Visa Applications: Online System Now Mandatory
New Zealand is phasing out paper applications for certain visitor and transit visas from October 1, 2026. Applicants must use Immigration New Zealand's enhanced online system instead.
The affected categories include Transit Visas, Visitor Visas, Business Visitor Visas, Group Visitor Visas, Academic Visitor Visas, Parent and Grandparent Visitor Visas, Medical Treatment Visitor Visas, and various other visitor visa subclasses.
Paper applications submitted before October 1 will be processed normally. However, after this date, paper applications will generally not be accepted except in exceptional circumstances.
