Ocala's Historic Coca-Cola Building Gets New Life as Eye Care Center
The historic Coca-Cola building in Ocala, Florida is set to undergo exterior renovations as part of its conversion into an eye care center and optical showroom. The property's new owners, Lange Real Estate, LLC, have submitted a $20,000 grant application to the North Magnolia Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) for matching funds.
The 9,464-square-foot facility was purchased by Lange Real Estate from Elder Planning Income Concepts, LLC for $1,650,000 on June 26. The property is being converted into a satellite location of the Lange Eye Institute, which operates an existing eye care center in The Villages.
Design renderings submitted with the application illustrate the building's historic facade will be preserved while outfitting the interior for modern medical use. Planned improvements include masonry restoration and updated glass entryways. The property was constructed in 1939 by Fort Lauderdale architect Courtney Stewart in the Mission/Spanish Revival style.
