An Ohio-based industrial equipment manufacturer is suing a customer for writing a negative Google review. Starr Manufacturing Inc., based in Vienna, filed a lawsuit against Columbus resident Julie Watson in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court in August.

The company alleges that Watson made false statements about its manufacturing work in a one-star Google review posted earlier this year. The review claimed quality-control problems, subcontractor issues, and repairs at well-pad sites, including improperly connected or tightened fasteners.

Starr's attorney says the review caused significant reputational harm and damages. The company is seeking actual and compensatory damages, punitive damages, attorney fees, and litigation costs exceeding $25,000.
