Ohio State Partners with Google to Accelerate AI Research
The Ohio State University has partnered with Google to accelerate scientific discovery and AI research on campus. The collaboration establishes an on-campus AI space, called the AI(X) Hub, which will provide researchers with access to over 200 AI models and high-performance computing power from Google Cloud.
As part of the partnership, students, faculty, and staff will have access to Google Workspace for Education, Gemini Enterprise, and Gemini Notebook through Google for Education. The university will also launch a student research ambassador program, allowing students to work alongside Google teams and gain hands-on industry experience.
The AI(X) Hub will focus on driving life-changing scientific discoveries in areas such as biomedical engineering, earth sciences, and the humanities. Researchers will have access to advanced AI models, including AlphaFold and agentic AI like AlphaEvolve, through Google DeepMind.
