Ohio State Unveils AI Space in Partnership with Google
The Ohio State University and Google have partnered to create an artificial intelligence (AI) space at the university's Innovation District. The initiative will give researchers, students, and faculty access to over 200 AI models, supercomputing systems, and advanced technology from Google DeepMind.
University President Ravi Bellamkonda emphasized the importance of embracing AI technology, stating that 'any positions have concerns about what AI is doing.' He noted that while AI may eliminate some jobs, it also creates new ones. The university aims to be nimble and adapt to the changing economy.
The partnership will provide students with personalized AI assistants, career pathway tools, and experiential learning opportunities. A research ambassador program, funded by Google, will place graduate students on campus to work directly with critical programs at the university.
