Ohio Teamsters Join Strike Against Coca-Cola Over Contract Disputes

Teamsters in multiple cities in Ohio have announced their support for striking workers at the Anderson Coca-Cola facility. Over 300 union members from Akron, Toledo, and Twinsburg are joining the strike against Coca-Cola over contract negotiations.

The strike began on September 2, with 48 workers represented by Teamsters Local 135 claiming that the company has engaged in unfair labor practices and negotiating in bad faith.

Coca-Cola's Ohio operations have been effectively shut down due to the strike. According to Jeff Padellaro, director of the Teamsters Brewery, Bakery and Soft Drink Conference, 'The company has been failing to seriously bargain without members, and we aren't going to stand for it.'

The union's main points of contention include wages, health care, and sticking with the status quo. Coca-Cola could not be reached for comment on this story.
