Oil Price Surge Fuels ExxonMobil's Growth Prospects
The price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil has surged to around $100 per barrel, driven by ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The U.S. Energy Information Administration projects WTI at $84.65 per barrel for this year, higher than last year's $65.40.
ExxonMobil Holdings Corporation (XOM) is likely to benefit from the high oil prices, as its exploration and production activities generate the majority of its earnings. The company has a significant presence in the Permian Basin, where it employs new drilling techniques and artificial intelligence to boost production volumes at lower costs.
ConocoPhillips (COP) and Chevron Corporation (CVX) are also expected to gain from the high oil prices, with COP generating a large proportion of its revenues from crude oil. CVX has seen growth in production volumes thanks to its presence in the Permian Basin.
