Older Nvidia GPUs Get Exclusive Features Through Software Hack
A recent experiment has revealed that certain features exclusive to Nvidia's RTX 50-series GPUs can be unlocked on older hardware, including the RTX 4070 Ti. Samarveer, a gaming enthusiast and writer, was able to enable Multi Frame Generation (MFG) up to 4x on his RTX 4070 Ti using OptiScaler, despite it being an exclusive feature for RTX 40-series GPUs.
The results showed that the image quality remained clear and crisp even at 4x MFG, with a frame rate of 160 fps in The Blood of Dawnwalker. However, Samarveer was unable to test 5x and 6x MFG due to VRAM limitations on his 12GB GPU.
Additionally, DLSS 5, another RTX 50-series exclusive feature, can also be enabled on older hardware using OptiScaler and related tools. While the performance penalty is significant, Samarveer was able to achieve a playable frame rate in each game he tested.
