Oppenheimer: Stocks May Be Vulnerable to Sharp Bond Selloff

Goldman Sachs Group Inc.'s Peter Oppenheimer, chief global equity strategist, has warned that stocks may become vulnerable if bond markets experience a sharp selloff. According to Oppenheimer, strong earnings have provided some cushion by reducing stock valuations this year.

In a Bloomberg Television interview, Oppenheimer stated, 'The real issue is whether we get a further sharp selloff in bond markets from here.' He emphasized that equities become vulnerable if the fall in bonds accelerates further.
