Optum Closes Anacortes Clinic Amid Consolidation Efforts

Optum Health, owned by UnitedHealth Group, is closing its internal medicine clinic in Anacortes, Washington on December 4. The decision to close the clinic comes after the company sold its Bellingham clinic in August, citing geographical isolation as a reason for the sale.

The closure will consolidate services at Optum's La Conner clinic, located about 12 miles from the Anacortes facility. Patients currently seeing doctors at the Anacortes clinic will have access to nearby options, including Optum's La Conner clinic and other providers in the community.

Optum did not immediately respond to questions about the potential for the Anacortes clinic to be acquired by another healthcare provider.
