Orefield Truck Driver Keith Mertz Dies at Age 69
Keith A. Mertz, a 69-year-old truck driver from Orefield, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 17, 2026, at St. Luke's University Health Network in Bethlehem.
Mertz was married to his wife, Karen Lynn (Scheese), for 30 years and had recently celebrated their milestone anniversary in June.
Before retiring, he worked as a truck driver for Harrisburg News, and more recently, he was employed at Home Depot for five years.
A member of the United Church of Christ Greenawalds, Mertz enjoyed bowling at the Rose Bowl. He is survived by his wife, daughter Kathryn I. Cotto (Javier L.), brothers Wayne, Glenn (Barbara), and Barry (Gloria), sisters Louise Diehl and Gail (Dan), nieces and nephews, and a fur grandbaby named Bolt.
