Oregon Man Accused of Scamming $1.3M by Posing as NFL Player on Dating Apps
An Oregon man allegedly scammed at least 26 women out of over $1.3 million by posing as an NFL player on dating apps.
Daejon Labrayae Love, 35, and Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, are accused of using fake profiles to lure victims into investing in fake opportunities.
The scheme was made more believable by the fact that Google's AI-generated search summaries repeated the fake persona as if it were real.
The FBI found that Love had created convincing social media profiles on Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, portraying himself as a San Francisco 49ers player.
