Orlando Tourism Giants Test AI-Powered Vacation Planners
Artificial intelligence is transforming Orlando's tourism industry as Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and Visit Orlando experiment with new AI-powered tools. The technology aims to streamline guest experiences by providing personalized recommendations for vacations.
Disney World has been testing an AI-powered feature developed with Google Cloud that allows guests to input their vacation preferences. The tool then generates a summary of ticket prices, hotel rates, and other relevant information. However, the current version does not include extras such as Lightning Lanes or dining reservations.
Dr. Arthur Huang, Associate Professor at UCF Rosen College, who teaches Smart Travel and Tourism, believes AI can make the planning process more efficient for travelers. 'I just voice over and tell it what I wanted, and AI will understand exactly what my needs are and provide specific actions to be taken for the next steps,' he said.
The Disney World tool is currently being tested with randomly selected guests in the U.S. and Canada, but there is no announced date for its full rollout to the public. This is not the first Orlando tourism company to experiment with AI, as Universal Orlando Resort introduced a similar tool called 'UNI' last month, exclusively for travel agency partners.
