Open Standard has launched OUSD, its newly introduced stablecoin, roughly three months after announcing the project in June. The token is now available across four networks, including Ethereum and Solana.

The initial distribution of OUSD will be carried out through Visa, Stripe, BVNK (a Mastercard-owned stablecoin firm), and Coinbase Global Inc., which have collectively pledged to mint around $1 billion of OUSD to jump-start liquidity.

OUSD's CEO, Zach Abrams, stated that 'in order for the space to be as big as it could be, a better stablecoin needed to exist.' Abrams recently left his role at Bridge, a stablecoin startup acquired by Stripe in 2025.
