Outlook Nationwide Outage Hits Ball State University Email Users
Outlook, the email service linked to Ball State University emails, experienced a nationwide outage on Monday morning.
A large spike in reported problems with the service occurred around 8 a.m. Monday morning.
About a quarter after 8 a.m., the site had over 6,000 reports of issues, according to Microsoft's Microsoft 365 Status X account.
The issue is attributed to an authentication component in Exchange Online, which Outlook uses for both access and email delivery.
In a statement on their status page, the Microsoft team said they have developed a remediation strategy and are applying it to a portion of infrastructure to test its efficacy. Once confirmed, the solution will be applied more broadly.
