Procter & Gamble (P&G) is expanding its healthcare segment through an acquisition. The consumer goods giant plans to purchase health and wellness company Thorne, which was founded in 1984. Thorne manufactures clinically backed supplements for personalized wellness solutions, with a product development team consisting of doctors, researchers, and scientists.

The company's AI-enabled wellness advisor, Taia, provides consumers with informed decisions about supplements, ingredients, and wellness routines. It uses AI to help users find products that fit their health goals, explain ingredients, compare Thorne products, share lifestyle and nutrition guidance, and refine a supplement routine based on their preferences.

Thorne's products are used by over 7 million consumers, tens of thousands of healthcare professionals, thousands of professional athletes, and more than 100 professional sports teams. P&G sees this acquisition as an important step in meeting growing consumer interest in self-care, prevention, and personalized wellness.
