Procter & Gamble (P&G) is expanding its presence in the health and wellness sector through a strategic acquisition. The company has confirmed plans to acquire Thorne HealthTech, a well-known manufacturer of science-backed dietary supplements.

The transaction aims to integrate Thorne's specialized health offerings into P&G's existing consumer health and wellness portfolio, leveraging the supplement maker's established brand reputation and product line to reach a more health-conscious consumer base.

CEO Shailesh Jejurikar noted that the acquisition price is aligned with current industry standards, reflecting the company's focus on long-term value creation through targeted brand expansion.

The deal follows competitive interest from other industry players, including UK-based Haleon, which was reportedly among the participants in the bidding process. Thorne had attracted significant interest, with a valuation of up to $4 billion placed on the supplements company in June.
