P&G Wins Bidding War for Supplement Maker Thorne
Procter & Gamble (P&G) has won the bidding war for supplement maker Thorne, beating out Unilever and Haleon. The deal is reportedly worth $3.8 billion, representing a strong return on investment of more than $3 billion for L Catterton.
Thorne, founded in 1984, is a leader in developing innovative solutions for delivering personalized approaches to health and wellness. As a science-driven wellness company, Thorne empowers individuals with the support, education, and solutions they need to achieve healthy aging, living healthier longer.
The acquisition comes after P&G acquired clean health startup Wonderbelly earlier this year for an undisclosed sum. L Catterton is the largest global consumer-focused investment firm managing approximately $40 billion of equity capital across multiproduct platforms dedicated to private equity, credit, and real estate.
