Palm Springs Air Museum Auctions Off Walt Disney's Personal Aircraft Collectibles
The Palm Springs Air Museum is offering a unique way for Disney fans to own a piece of history. The museum, working in collaboration with the Walt Disney Archives and MotoArt Studios, is auctioning off collectible Plane Tags made from the original aircraft skin used in the restoration of Walt Disney's personal Gulfstream G-1.
The Plane Tags are small metal tags that commemorate Walt Disney's personal aircraft, which was nicknamed 'Mickey Mouse One.' The plane played a significant role in Disney's history, as it was used for scouting missions from California to Florida and the site that would eventually become the home of Walt Disney World.
A limited number of Plane Tags are being auctioned off, with bidding open now through August 31, 2026. The tags will be available for direct purchase through the Palm Springs Air Museum starting on September 1, 2026.
