Parking Lots Become Data Centers with Xeal's Laitent Platform
Xeal, an American company, has launched the Laitent platform to transform parking lots into compact data centers. This ambitious plan involves deploying up to 100,000 Nvidia GPUs in these pods, which can be placed anywhere, even without a water supply for cooling. The main advantage of this approach is autonomy and efficient use of energy.
The company manages infrastructure in 500 US cities and has an authorized capacity of over 200 MW. However, charging stations typically operate at half capacity, with only 10% of the maximum allowable limit used. Xeal aims to rectify this by utilizing the remaining 90% of unused energy for AI inference.
Xeal estimates that installing computational modules can increase the value of a property by approximately $1 million with minimal or even zero investments required from parking lot owners. The company launched the Laitent network in September 2026, and the first real module is expected to be installed by the end of the year.
