Pendleton Jr., Lifelong Area Resident and Former IBM Employee, Passes Away at 85

Arthur Pendleton Jr., an 85-year-old lifelong resident of the area, passed away on September 17, 2026, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Pendleton was born in Beacon on April 19, 1941, to Arthur Pendleton Sr. and Alice Hauver Pendleton. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1963.

Following his military service, Pendleton had a long career with IBM in East Fishkill, where he worked until retirement. A lifelong sports enthusiast, especially baseball, Pendleton coached his children's teams and later college softball teams. He was also a devoted fan of the New York Mets and New York Giants.
