Pennington Cedar Grand Snack Shack Bird Feeder Reviewed
The Pennington Cedar Grand Snack Shack bird feeder from Home Depot offers a stylish and spacious way to attract birds to your yard. This feeder is designed to resemble an outdoor pavilion, featuring a cedar wood roof and base, suet baskets on each end, and an acrylic center that can hold up to 3.75 pounds of bird seed. The cedar wood is both weather-resistant and naturally repels bugs, making it a durable option for outdoor use. The feeder measures 8 inches tall and 11.81 inches wide, providing ample space for multiple types of bird food.
One of the standout features of this feeder is that it requires no assembly, arriving fully pre-built and ready to use. Priced at $24.97, it's an affordable option that allows you to create a bird feeder buffet by offering different suet cakes and seeds to attract a variety of birds.
However, some reviewers have noted a potential drawback: the absence of a perch for birds to sit and eat. One 3-star reviewer on Home Depot's product page expressed disappointment about this, suggesting that adding wood planks along the bottom of the feeder could provide additional perching space. Another consideration is the feeder's weight, which can exceed 7 pounds when filled with seed and suet. It's important to hang it from a sturdy support, such as a thick tree branch or a secured metal or wood pole with heavy-duty hooks, to prevent it from falling.
