Pentagon Signs Deals with Boeing, RTX to Boost Missile Interceptor Production

The Pentagon has signed framework agreements with Boeing and RTX to boost production of components for the SM-3 Block IIA and SM-3 Block IB missiles.

The deals aim to strengthen production of ship-fired surface-to-air interceptors that underpin the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System, according to the Pentagon's statement.

The announcement was made on Friday, August 14, 2026. The agreements will enhance the production of critical components for the SM-3 Block IIA and SM-3 Block IB munitions.
