In August, over a dozen establishments in Peoria County received perfect food inspections from the Peoria City/County Health Department. Among them was Bright Side Kitchen, a multi-concept restaurant located at 106 E. McClure Ave. in Peoria. The eatery saw no violations and has also achieved a perfect report in late February.

Bright Side Kitchen owner Joshua Lanning attributed the results to good habits and consistent teamwork. He emphasized that food safety is a crucial aspect of running a kitchen, requiring organization, proper storage and handling, constant cleaning, attention to temperatures, and a team committed to maintaining high standards even during busy periods.

In total, just under 10% of routine inspections for restaurants, bars, and mobile establishments received zero violations. Other businesses that achieved perfect reports include BU Jerry's Juice Bar @ Markin, BU Student Center, Caterpillar Bldg LC & Kiosk, Caterpillar Tech E, and several others.
