Peoria Woman Celebrated for Her Kindness and Devotion to Family
Demelza 'Dee' Bittle, a 64-year-old resident of Peoria, Illinois, passed away on August 25, 2026, at her home after a long battle with health issues. Born on October 14, 1961, in Rutherford, Tennessee, Dee spent most of her childhood there with her siblings.
Dee's career began in sales support for EF Hutton and Baird Wealth Management in Peoria before moving to Caterpillar INC., where she eventually retired due to health concerns. In 2001, she married Mike Bittle and became the stepmother to his two children.
The highlight of Dee's life was her grandchildren, who affectionately called her 'Grandma Dee' or 'GiGi.' Her kindness, gentleness, and warm personality made a lasting impression on everyone who met her. The family has chosen not to hold a visitation, instead opting for a celebration of life in the fall.
