PIA Leases Five Boeing Aircraft to Boost EU, UK Operations

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has taken major steps towards its revival and financial recovery. The airline's board recently approved leasing five Boeing aircraft from European airline Norse Atlantic for six months. Two of these Boeing 777 aircraft will be used for PIA's flight operations to Europe, while the remaining three will serve UK routes.

The lease agreement includes two Boeing 777 aircraft on a wet lease basis for six months, with the option to extend the contract. In addition, PIA has approved acquiring three more aircraft on dry lease, which will further enhance its fleet capacity and operational efficiency.

The procurement of spare parts for PIA's existing aircraft has also been expedited by the board, aimed at minimizing downtime and improving overall performance. This strategic decision reflects PIA's commitment to providing reliable and efficient services to its passengers.

Earlier this year, PIA announced a major expansion of its London operations, increasing weekly flights from four to seven as of October 27. With daily connectivity now available between Pakistan and the UK capital, passengers can enjoy greater flexibility in planning their journeys.
