Pichai Credits Luck and Self-Reflection for Success

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google, has spoken about his journey to becoming one of the most powerful leaders in tech. In a recent podcast, he attributed his success to 'a lot of luck along the way' but emphasized the importance of listening to one's heart and surrounding oneself with people who outshine them.

Pichai, born and raised in Chennai, India, had limited access to computers growing up, which only made their introduction more impactful. He moved to the US in 1993 to pursue his master's degree at Stanford University and later landed a job at Google in 2004.

The CEO emphasized that working with people who are better than him has been instrumental in his growth and encouraged young workers to put themselves in uncomfortable situations, as they may surprise themselves. He also reflected on the changes he has seen at Google over the years, stating that what remains constant is the thrill of working for the company.
