Pierre Wastewater System Faces Future Upgrades

The Pierre City Commission in South Dakota recently reviewed the final report on the city's enterprise-funded functions, focusing on its wastewater system. The presentation highlighted that the sanitary sewer system is quite large for a city of its size.

City Administrator Kristie Honeywell emphasized how water usage is calculated for residents and explained that improvements have been made to the system over the past few years. However, more upgrades are planned for the future.

The city aims to remove unnecessary buildings at the sewage treatment plant and apply protective coatings to equipment. Upgrades will also be made to existing equipment.
