Pinterest Names Amazon Veteran James Dibbo as New CFO
Pinterest Inc. (PINS) has announced the appointment of James Dibbo, a seasoned finance executive from Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN), as its new chief financial officer. Dibbo, who is 56 years old, will assume his role on October 26, replacing Julia Donnelly, who joined Pinterest in 2023 and is set to leave the company on October 30 to pursue an opportunity at a private, early-stage firm.
During his tenure at Amazon, Dibbo oversaw finance for key divisions such as Amazon Ads, Prime Video, and Amazon MGM Studios. Pinterest CEO Bill Ready praised Dibbo, describing him as an "exceptional finance leader" with extensive expertise in consumer technology, shopping, and advertising. Ready highlighted Dibbo's ability to bring "operational discipline" to scaling complex global businesses.
In its latest financial update, Pinterest reported $1.18 billion in second-quarter revenue, surpassing analyst expectations of $1.15 billion. The company's adjusted earnings were 43 cents per share, higher than the anticipated 36 cents. For the third quarter, Pinterest anticipates revenue between $1.19 billion and $1.21 billion, aligning closely with the analyst consensus of $1.20 billion. The company also projects adjusted EBITDA of $335 million to $355 million, an increase from the second quarter's $311 million.
On Monday, Pinterest shares closed at $20.06, following a 4.15% gain. In after-hours trading, the shares rose slightly by 0.20% to $20.10. According to Benzinga Edge Rankings, PINS ranks in the 89th percentile for Growth, although its short-, medium-, and long-term price trends remain negative.
