Pinterest Powers Up AI Shopping with Nvidia Partnership
Pinterest has announced a partnership with Nvidia to expand its automated shopping offerings using artificial intelligence (AI). The new AI layer combines Nvidia's hardware and Pinterest's visual embeddings, enabling teams to build and launch multimodal AI products without creating individual infrastructure for each offering.
The partnership aims to support products that rely on both images and language, including visual search, content understanding, and safety systems. By investing in Nvidia's hardware, Pinterest seeks to deliver faster, smarter, and more personalized experiences for its user base.
In early tests, Nvidia's contribution enabled the Pinterest Assistant chatbot to run 25x more visual context per request. Benchmark testing showed average improvements of about 85x faster response startup and 7.3x faster overall latency when using precomputed visual representations instead of raw images.
