Pismo Expands Presence in India, Eyes Further Growth

Visa-owned Pismo has gone live with eight institutions in India and plans to expand its presence further. The platform, which supplies technology for financial institutions' products such as card issuance and processing, is a key part of Visa's value-added services play globally.

Pismo's senior vice-president and general manager, Leonardo Collado, stated that India is an important market for the company and one of its priority markets for the ongoing financial year. The platform supports issuance and processing on rival schemes, including Mastercard and RuPay, and a majority of transactions processed on Pismo globally are not Visa's.

Collado noted that Pismo is a technology provider which is different from what people in India are used to seeing Visa as a network. It serves across all payment spectrum wherever its clients need to be, he added.
