Pixel 11 Pro Gets Long-Awaited HiLight Feature in Android 17 QPR2 Update
Google has updated its Android 17 QPR2 Beta to support HiLight on Pixel 11 Pro series devices. With this new feature, users can receive notification glows when their favorite contacts send messages. This is a long-awaited addition for Pixel 11 Pro owners.
To access the new feature, go to Settings > System > HiLight and enable 'Messages from favorites: Glows when your favorite contacts send you messages.' This option is located below Speaking with Gemini and Calls.
The update also brings support for Google Messages, while WhatsApp is expected to be supported as well. When receiving a message, the device will blink twice to alert the user.
Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6.1 was released after an initial version that did not support Pixel 11 series devices. This update includes the September 2026 security patch and can be installed by users currently on the stable build.
