Pixel Vulnerabilities: Google Fixes 110 Flaws, Zero-Day Exploitation Reported
Google recently released patches for 110 vulnerabilities in its Pixel smartphones, including one zero-day vulnerability that is being actively exploited in targeted attacks.
The CVE-2026-58704 vulnerability affects the cellular modem component and allows attackers to escalate privileges on the smartphone, potentially leading to broader access to its functions and data. While Google hasn't disclosed all the details of this vulnerability yet, there are signs of limited exploitation.
In addition to CVE-2026-58704, 109 other vulnerabilities were addressed in the latest update, with most rated as high or critical. These vulnerabilities affect various components of the Pixel device, including the modem, bootloader, GPU, and fingerprint scanner.
Google publishes separate security updates for its Pixel devices, which are not part of the regular Android security updates. This is because different manufacturers use different hardware and software components in their devices, making some fixes specific to individual manufacturers' devices.
