Pixel Watch 5 Boosts Fitness Features with Enhanced Route Tracking and Health Monitoring
The Google Pixel Watch 5 has upgraded its fitness features, including a more accurate route tracking system and new Health Guardian tools. The watch now uses dual-band GPS to provide twice as accurate route tracking in urban environments. This is particularly useful for runners who often leave their phone at home.
The Health Guardian tools, which are set to be available in September, include features like Insulin Resistance Trends, Blood Pressure Trends, Breathing Emergency Detection, and Sleep Breathing Quality Trends. These tools use physiological data to identify shifts in metabolic health and can even track pulse and motion patterns without manual calibration.
One of the most notable new features is the Bedtime Mode, which silences notifications, disables the always-on display, and adds a red tint to make it easier on the eyes in the dark. The watch can also automatically pause media when it detects that you've fallen asleep.
