Pixel Watch 5 Leverages Gemini AI to Enhance Health Features
Google has unveiled its latest smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 5. While it retains the same round-screen design as its predecessor, the new model focuses on health and fitness features powered by Google's Gemini AI.
The Pixel Watch 5 comes in four colors: Canyon, Olive, Fog, and Obsidian, and is available in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm. It has a 3,000-nit brightness display and up to 40-hour battery life, identical to the previous model.
Under the hood, the Pixel Watch 5 boasts a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chip (12% faster CPU with 20% faster on-device intelligence) and 50% more RAM (3GB), making it more efficient than its predecessor. The watch also features improved GPS for route tracking, providing up to two times better accuracy.
The Pixel Watch 5 prioritizes health and fitness, introducing advanced machine learning-powered features such as blood pressure trend tracking and insulin resistance monitoring without the need for drawing blood. These features will be available on all compatible Pixel Watches this fall.
Preorders for the Pixel Watch 5 start today (Aug. 12) with general availability on Aug. 20, priced at $399 for the 41mm model and $429 for the 45mm model. A Stephen Curry version is also available, costing $579.
