Pixel Watch Gets Advanced Health Monitoring Capabilities
Google is expanding the capabilities of its Pixel Watch to include advanced health monitoring tools. The new features allow users to track metrics related to blood pressure and insulin resistance, as well as monitor certain health indicators during sleep.
The watch's physiological data analysis system uses continuous data collection to detect long-term trends and changes in user health, rather than relying on a single reading at a specific moment.
Blood pressure monitoring tools analyze pulse and movement patterns to track changes, while insulin resistance monitoring relies on analyzing physiological data collected over several weeks. The system also includes tools for monitoring breathing quality during sleep.
Google emphasizes that these features are designed for general health and wellness monitoring and should not be relied upon solely for diagnosing illnesses or making treatment decisions.
