PNG Chiefs Ink Historic Coca-Cola Deal Worth Over $5 Million

PNG Chiefs have announced a major sponsorship deal with Coca-Cola, which will see the beverage giant's logo on the team's jersey for the next three seasons.

The deal, reportedly worth over $5 million in total, makes Coca-Cola the richest sleeve sponsor in the NRL. The partnership also includes funding for grassroots programs and financial literacy education through a separate agreement with Bank South Pacific.

Jarome Luai will retain his status as the face of Pepsi in Papua New Guinea while playing for the Chiefs, as his individual endorsement deal with the brand remains intact.

The PNG Chiefs CEO, Lorna McPherson, stated that the team's revenue stream relies heavily on sponsorship dollars due to the unique setup of the league. She emphasized the importance of thinking long-term and diversifying commercial partnerships to ensure the project's sustainability.
