Polymarket Recruits Goldman Sachs Veteran for Institutional Push
Polymarket has made a significant move in its bid to attract institutional investors by hiring Lisa Mantil, a 30-year veteran of Goldman Sachs. Mantil joins Polymarket as head of institutional growth, bringing her experience from helping clients launch investment products through the ETF Accelerator platform at Goldman Sachs.
'The opportunity to join Polymarket is a rare chance to participate in the formation of an explosively growing asset class at an inflection point,' Mantil said. She will apply her expertise to building Polymarket's institutional business, expanding participation from Wall Street financial institutions and large investors on the platform.
Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan described Mantil's 'institutional financial markets experience and network as world-class,' stating that she is the right person to lead the company's institutional expansion. This hire comes after Polymarket appointed Warren Jenson, a former CFO at Amazon and Delta Air Lines, as its new chief financial officer earlier this month.
Polymarket's prediction market industry has seen significant growth in trading volumes over the past year, driven largely by retail investors interested in sports-related products. However, the company is racing to secure institutional liquidity, with rival Kalshi having executed a block trade among prediction market platforms in April.
