Powell Electronics Offers Honeywell's Rugged Aerospace Proximity Sensors

Honeywell's rugged GAPS and HAPS aerospace proximity sensors are now available through Powell Electronics, a specialist in high-reliability connectors and harsh environment applications.

The GAPS series is designed for less harsh areas of application, with electrical and environmental characteristics that differ from the HAPS series, which is suitable for harsh-duty aircraft applications.

Both sensor series incorporate Honeywell's patented integrated health monitoring functionality and provide on/off outputs, as well as an optional health monitoring output to the host system.

The sensors use Eddy Current Killed Oscillator (ECKO) principles, with Honeywell's patented FAVCO technology enabling the health monitoring features. This unique circuit can detect internal failures and display a fault output instead of a false positive or negative.
