Séamus Power is off to a strong start in his bid to regain full tour status for 2027. The Waterford man shot an impressive five-under 66 on day one of the Biltmore Championship Asheville, leaving him inside the top ten at T9. Power's approach play was particularly noteworthy, ranking fifth in Strokes Gained: Approach.

Despite missing the cut at last week's Amgen Irish Open, Power showed little sign of jetlag as he teed up at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove. He made back-to-back birdies on four and five, another on the 10th hole, and birdied each of the remaining three par-5s.

Power began the week ranked 114th in the FedEx Fall rankings, needing to push his way into the top 100 by November's RSM Classic to retain full tour status for next year. The Biltmore Championship Asheville is the first stop in the eight-tournament FedEx Cup Fall series, with Power facing stiff competition from leaders Max Greyserman and Eric Cole at -7.
